Case Study: White Waxy Corn
White Waxy Corn - Case Study

At Rotenia.com, we believe healthy soil is the foundation of a sustainable harvest. In early 2025, we partnered with a group of farmers in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, to introduce our organic fertilizer in the cultivation of White Waxy Corn (Jagung Pulut Putih). This premium corn variety is highly valued in local and regional markets, but many farmers struggled with inconsistent yields due to declining soil fertility and heavy reliance on chemical inputs.

By applying Rotenia’s bio-organic fertilizer during soil preparation and throughout the growing cycle, we saw a remarkable improvement in both plant vigor and soil condition. Farmers reported stronger root development, greener and healthier leaves, and better resilience during dry spells. Most importantly, yields increased by up to 25% compared to conventional practices, while production costs related to chemical fertilizer purchases decreased.

Beyond yield, the use of organic fertilizer improved the taste and texture of the corn, making it more attractive to buyers in local markets. The sticky and naturally sweet qualities of White Waxy Corn were enhanced, creating a competitive edge for farmers. This success story has inspired more farmer groups in Kupang to transition toward organic inputs, proving that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand.

At Rotenia.com, this case study reaffirms our mission: empowering farmers with natural solutions that regenerate the land, improve harvest quality, and open pathways to better market opportunities.
